Big Trill got it in with Trill Talk Radio for an exclusive interview. Hailing from Glenarden as Reese Da Realist, is an upcoming hip-hop artist who has the drive and determination to be very successful in the music industry. Reese has a very innovative sound. His lyrics separate him from what everyone else in the rap game is doing right now. He carries himself as a leader, and with that attitude, his potential for success is immeasurable.
As a follow-up to his debut release Reese Da Realist, his second solo effort, Presidential Suite, was released in July 2009. Presidential Suitewelcomed listeners to his world and showcased his talent as the best upcoming rapper in the DMV. Creating a buzz about his music, Reese performed at Gee’s Nightclub in Hyattsville, MD and other venues in the region throughout the summer of 2009, attracting the attention of fellow artists, new fans, and industry insiders.
Recently, Reese Da Realist has taken another step to further his music career. In March 2011, he officially started his own independent record label, Tha Newz Entertainment. Reese continues to make a name for himself by expanding his fan base through Twitter, with new music available via BandCamp, and by opening up for artists such as Deangelo Redman and Trina. In October 2011, Reese Da Realist released the video for “Good Life,” the first single from his new album, Long Flight, which dropped November 22, 2011. The video has garnered new fans around the world, especially in Africa. In January 2012, Reese was featured 93.9 WKYS’ artist spotlight, and “Good Life” was played on air.
When asked what separates him from other artists, what makes him stand out, Reese replies “I’m consistent, versatile, a risk taker. I write what I feel; I write what the track tells me. You can hear my hunger, my passion. I sound as if I’m in the industry, and I’m not.” Reese Da Realist is ready to take the music industry by storm.
