Corey Gunz Arrested on Gun Charges

Corey Gunz was arrested this past weekend after police were tipped off that he was in possession of a firearm.  Gunz is the son of Peter Gunz of Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz fame who are well known for their late nineties anthem DeJa Vu (Uptown Baby).  Peter told MTV that the anonymous tip and an illegal search contributed to Corey's arrest. This
would be the second time that a member of the Young Money family will be subjected to New York's mandatory minimum; the first was the label's head Lil Wayne. Corey apologized to his fans by way of various media outlets stating that the possession " was a big mistake on his part". Yesterday he tweeted the following statement "I apologize to all of my supporters, Friends, and Family. Things happen, No excuses. My only regret is letting ya'll down. Peace".

Def Jam Adds 2 Chainz to their Roster
In an exclusive interview with XXL magazine 2 Chainz  confirmed that he is now signed to Def Jam Records. In the interview he explained:

“It’s the Real University, Two Gun Gang, Street Executives. It’s not DTP no more,” he said. “I’m actually behind [Ludacris], he’s still my homie. I just took another route as far as running my own company and bossing up. But on the other hand, I’m still working with him. He has an album coming out this year, as well. Matter of fact, we are label mates, now, which is crazy. So, yeah, that’ll be cool. I’m looking forward to that.”

After releasing his mixtape he has been highly sought after by many major and independent labels so this should come as no surprise to anyone. His incredible work ethic and grind, most notably the over 100 stops he has made on his current tour, was destined be noticed by the powers that be.
